Tourist Visa

(This is for 2 years multiple entry Nigerian Visa on a valid US passport).

 

Documents required to obtain a Nigerian Tourist/Visitor's visa:


*Adults (Above 18 years):

 

1. Valid US Passport Book (at least 6 months validity - visa will be denied for anyone holding passport that expires in less than 6 months) Do Not send Photocopy, we need your physical US Passport Booklet. the Nigerian visa will be placed inside your US Passport Book and returned to you.
 
2. One recent passport sized picture of the Visa applicant.
 
3. Please include your return flight ticket itinerary
 

4. Evidence of funds to cover stay in Nigeria. (A copy of the applicant’s bank statement, showing their name and address, hide/black out the account or card numbers). Please show a minimum of $500 account balance. The inviter (host) should provide his/her bank statement if responsible for the applicant’s accommodation and upkeep while in Nigeria. 

 
5. Signed Invitation letter from your Nigerian host addressed to the Consulate General of Nigeria. (must answer- who; what;
where; when) Letter must specifically state the full address in Nigeria where the applicant will be staying during their visit and that  The inviter (host ) will bear full immigration responsibility for the applicant. Must be signed and dated by the inviter (host). The signature on the invitation letter must match the signature of the inviters (host) valid Nigerian passport data page. 
 
6. Photocopy of your inviters (host) Valid Nigerian Passport showing the data/signature page with the inviters’ signature. Expired Nigerian passports are NOT acceptable.
 
Notes:
If host is accompanying applicant, his/her flight is also required.
 
Holders of non-US passports applying for Nigerian Visa must provide proof of legal residency (Photocopy of green card, Work Permit, Student Visa).
 

 

Nigerian citizens (with an expired Nigerian Passport) applying for a Nigerian visa on their US Passport, please Include a photocopy of your expired Nigerian passport and your Flight Itinerary. Disregard all other requirements above except providing your US PASSPORT, PASSPORT SIZED PHOTO, FLIGHT ITINERARY AND PHOTOCOPY OF YOUR EXPIRED NIGERIAN PASSPORT. 
 
 
Please include a FedEx self addressed prepaid return priority overnight shipping envelope with label. (Your Shipping labels must include the name of the applicant and your phone number) 

 

*Minors (0-18 years):*
 

1. Valid US Passport (at least 6 months validity - visa will be denied for anyone holding passport that expires in less than 6 months) Do Not send Photocopy, we need your physical US Passport Booklet. the Nigerian visa will be placed inside your US Passport Book and returned to you.
 
2. One recent passport photograph of each Visa applicant.
(This is for the child getting the visa not the Parents)

3. Photocopy of your child's Birth certificate 
(Do not send the Original, the embassy keeps this document on file. It will not be returned)
 
3. Letter of Consent from Father (typed, signed & notarized) 
 
3a.  Father’s  passport data page (not expired) this is the page showing your bio data and picture) 
 
4. Letter of Consent from mother (typed, signed & notarized) 
 
4a. . Mother’s passport data page (not expired) this is the page showing your bio data and picture) 

(The letter must state that the lawful custodial parent and/or non-custodial parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of the child has my/our consent to travel with the specified accompanying person to Nigeria. The letter must be addressed to the Consulate of Nigeria, Atlanta.

7. Flight itinerary

 

Please include a FedEx self addressed prepaid return priority overnight shipping envelope with label. 
(Your Shipping labels must include the name of the applicant and your phone number) 
 

Foot note:

• If applicant is a non-US national, place copy of residency permit behind applicant’s passport data page.

• if parents are Nigerian with US passports place a copy of the Nigerian passport behind the US passport even if it’s expired.

• If the parents’ are non-Nigerians, a bank statement is needed.

Express Processing time is 5 business days. $495 money order
 
Expedited Processing time is 2 business days.  $545 money order

Business Visa

(This is for 2 years multiple entry Nigerian visa on a valid US passport).

 

Documents required to obtain a Nigerian Business  visa:

 
1. Valid US Passport (at least 6 months validity - visa will be denied for anyone holding passport that expires in less than 6 months) Do Not send Photocopy, we need your physical US Passport Booklet. the Nigerian visa will be placed inside your US Passport Book and returned to you.
 
2. Letter of invitation from host company in Nigeria, accepting full immigration and financial responsibility as well as stating purpose of visit (and duration of stay) and signed by an officer of the host company.
 
3. Photocopy of the Certificate of Incorporation of  the host company issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria
 
4. Completed Form IMM 22

STR Visa

The documents should be arranged into 4 sets. Each set must include the following mentioned documents. Excluding the fees and your valid travel passport.
 
1. Valid travel passport, must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of the trip
 
2. Letter from host company in Nigeria, requesting worker to work temporary and signed by an officer of the host company.
 
3. Copy of Nigerian Immigration approval quota, (expatriate quota approval from Nigeria or approval from Nigeria for STR)
 
4. Resume, degrees, and certificates earned
 
5. Employment offer letter
 
6. Acceptance of employment letter
 
7. Police Clearance letter or Criminal Background Check.
 
8. One recent passport-sized photo
 
Holders of non–US passports must provide proof of legal residency (photocopy of green card, or resident visa)
 

TWP Visa

Temporary work permits are most often requested by students or persons searching for jobs. Important information to consider and prepare for:
 
1. Valid travel passport, must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of the trip.
 
2. Letter from host company in Nigeria, requesting worker to work temporary and signed by an officer of the host company. Formal application from Host Company in Nigeria, attaching a copy of the work order indicating the exact job to be performed by the expert.
 
3. Copy of Comptroller general of immigration Approval cable visa that lists the applicant’s name
 
4. One recent passport-sized photo
 
Holders of non–US passports must provide proof of legal residency (photocopy of green card, or resident visa)
 

Emergency Travel Certificate

This certificate is usually issued to Nigerians who lose their passport while abroad. This certificate helps them to return to Nigeria. An Emergency Travel Certificate is usually valid for one journey to Nigeria only and must be surrendered to immigration authorities at the port of entry.

 

  • Proof of citizenship (Copy of Nigerian Passport)
  • 1 Passport photo
  • Travel Itinerary to Nigeria 
  • Letter addressed to the Consulate General of Nigeria, Atlanta stating reasons requesting for emergency travel
  • Emergency Travel Certificate is for a single journey, and is valid from the date of your departure as stated on your ticket. It will expire 4 weeks after your departure date.
