Renew an existing Nigerian Passport

To renew an existing Nigerian passport, you must apply in person. Fingerprints and e-photo of you must be taken at a Nigerian Embassy or Consulate. Nigerian Passports are actually not renewed but re-issued. A new passport booklet will be issued to you. You can not mail in your application.

Get a new Nigerian Passport - First Time Applicants

To get a new Nigerian e-Passport, you must apply in person. Fingerprints and e-photo of you must be taken at a Nigerian Embassy or Consulate. You can not mail in your application.  
 

For Adults 18 and older, Please come with a photocopy of your birth certificate and a photocopy of either of your parents Nigerian Passport (current or expired).

For Minors (0-18 years) applying for the first time, copies of birth certificate, data page of both parent's Nigerian passport (current or expired) and letter of consent signed by both parents is required.

Lost, Stolen or Missing Passport

To replace a lost, stolen or missing Nigerian Passport, you must apply in person. Fingerprints and e-photo of you must be taken at a Nigerian Embassy or Consulate. You can not mail in your application.  

 

Please come with a Police report and an additional $370 money order and 1 passport photo.

Change of Name (Women Only)

To process a change of Name by Marriage for applicants with old Nigerian Passports (Women Only).

The items you will need include:

  • Photocopy of your marriage certificate
  • Present your old Nigerian passport
  • Photocopy of your husband's current passport data page
  • As well as all the requirements needed to renew Passports as stated above
