Tourist Visa

Documents required to obtain a Nigerian Tourist/Visitor's visa:


*Adults (Above 18 years): $385*

 

1. Valid US Passport (at least 6 months validity - visa will be denied for anyone holding passport that expires in less than 6 months)

 

2. One recent passport photograph of each Visa applicant.

 

3. One (1) business day turnaround - Processing time 

 

*Minors (0-18 years):*

1. Valid US passport (at least 6 months validity -
visa will be denied for anyone holding passport that expires in less than 6 months)


2. Photocopy of your child's Birth certificate (Do not send Original)

3. Photocopy of the data page of both parents Nigerian passport (this is the
page showing your bio data and picture) - Scanned copies are accepted, please print and include in your package.

4. Letter of consent signed by both parents (letter giving consent to the
issuance of Nigerian visa(s) to your children – 

Scanned copies are accepted, please print and include in your package.

5. One recent passport photograph of each Visa applicant. (This is for the child getting the visa not the Parents)
 
Holders of non–US passports must provide proof of legal residency (photocopy of green card, or resident visa)
 
 

Business Visa

1. Valid travel passport, must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of the trip
 
2. Letter of invitation from host company in Nigeria, accepting full immigration and financial responsibility as well as stating purpose of visit (and duration of stay) and signed by an officer of the host company.
 
3. Copy of the host Nigerian passport or Certificate of Incorporation for the company
 
4. One recent passport-sized photo
 
Holders of non–US passports must provide proof of legal residency (photocopy of green card, or resident visa)
 
5. One (1) business day turnaround - Processing time 
 
 
 

STR Visa

The documents should be arranged into 4 sets. Each set must include the following mentioned documents. Excluding the fees and your valid travel passport.
 
1. Valid travel passport, must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of the trip
 
2. Letter from host company in Nigeria, requesting worker to work temporary and signed by an officer of the host company.
 
3. Copy of Nigerian Immigration approval quota, (expatriate quota approval from Nigeria or approval from Nigeria for STR)
 
4. Resume, degrees, and certificates earned
 
5. Employment offer letter
 
6. Acceptance of employment letter
 
7. Police Clearance letter or Criminal Background Check.
 
8. One recent passport-sized photo
 
Holders of non–US passports must provide proof of legal residency (photocopy of green card, or resident visa)
 
 
 

TWP Visa

1. Valid travel passport, must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of the trip
 
2. Letter from host company in Nigeria, requesting worker to work temporary and signed by an officer of the host company. Formal application from Host Company in Nigeria, attaching a copy of the work order indicating the exact job to be performed by the expert.
 
3. Copy of Comptroller general of immigration Approval cable visa that lists the applicant’s name
 
4. One recent passport-sized photo
 
Holders of non–US passports must provide proof of legal residency (photocopy of green card, or resident visa)
 
 
 

Emergency Travel Certificate

This certificate is usually issued to Nigerians who lose their passport while abroad. This certificate helps them to return to Nigeria. An Emergency Travel Certificate is usually valid for one journey to Nigeria only and must be surrendered to immigration authorities at the port of entry.

 

  • Proof of citizenship (Copy of Nigerian Passport)
  • 1 Passport photo
  • Travel Itinerary to Nigeria (Flight to Nigeria must be direct)
  • Letter addressed to the Consulate General of Nigeria, Atlanta stating reasons requesting for emergency travel
  • ETC good for 1 week from the date of issue.

NOTICES!

Please be aware that Friday September 1 (Sallah)  and Monday September 4 (Labor Day) is a holiday. All the Embassies will be closed. 

 

Effective April 13, 2017. The Consulate of Nigeria at Atlanta, and the Nigerian Embassy at Washington DC no longer charges additional processing fee of $30 money order for passport applications. Applicants at the New York Consulate should take along a $30 US Post Office money order. 

 

Do not buy any $30 money orders payable to the Consulate or Embassy of Nigeria for Nigerian Passport applications. Only Online Payments are accepted. Applicants at the New York Consulate should take along a $30 US Post Office money order. 

 

For Washington DC. All passport applicants  are required to be physically present on the appointment date specified on the payment confirmation receipt. Applicants will only be able to reschedule their appointment date after the initial appointment date has past.
